|The 4th NEAL-NET Joint Steering Committee&Council Held in Seoul, South Korea|
On July 16, 2018, The 4th NEAL-NET Joint Steering Committee and Council was held in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Shan Hongjun, deputy director of the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Transport, and Mr. Deng Yanjie, vice chairman of NEAL-NET, led the Chinese delegation. The goal of this meeting is to achieve the handover of the presidency of NEAL-NET.
At the meeting, Japan, the previous presidency country, is on behalf of the three parties of China, Japan and Korea to summarize the work since 2014. Since 2014, NEAL-NET has held 11 technical conferences to expand the ports coverage. The three countries have also actively carried out logistics information sharing cooperation with Southeast Asia, European ports and relevant international organizations. The Chinese side has completed the MOU signing with eight ports and interconnected information with three ports; the three countries jointly added the logistics status code related to the customs clearance status to UN/CEFACT to further internationalize the NEAL-NET standard; the three country completed the NEAL-NET user questionnaire survey and further established the work direction according to user needs.
South Korea, the new presidency country, introduced the NEAL-NET work plan for 2018-2022. In the future, the three countries will further expand the scope of port interconnection, carry out the research and application of multi-modal transport standards, promote the NEAL-NET cooperation mechanism, and improve NEAL-NET services according to user needs. After communication and discussion, the three countries jointly adopted the work plan.
According to the regulations of NEAL-NET, the handover of the flag was carried out, handling over to the Korean side by the Japanese side. Looking forward a new chapter under the leadership of the Korean President.
